Around Montenvers

Mont Blanc Ultra Trail

July 1, 2023
August 23 to 29, 2021

The Mont-Blanc Trailers and the French, Italian and Swiss communes of the Mont-Blanc region invite you to an extraordinary adventure: go around Mont-Blanc individually in one step, crossing 3 countries!

The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® invites you to live an extraordinary adventure by taking part in one of the 7 events on offer, including the mythical one:

The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® - the "queen" and original race: 171 km & 10 300 m D + - 2 300 runners

Mountain event, with many passages in altitude (> 2500m), in climatic conditions that can be very difficult (night, wind, cold, rain or snow), requiring very good training, adapted equipment and a real capacity for personal autonomy. It's 6:00 pm and there are more than 2300 of us sharing the same dream: to go around the Mont-Blanc in less than two days. Each one of us has carefully prepared for many months. Despite the enormity of the event, we are serene because we know that nearly 2000 volunteers are taking part in the same adventure, ready to offer their passion and help in a spirit of sharing and friendship. We are going to live a timeless adventure! In the moonlight, we will rub the Aiguille de Bionnassay and cross the Col du Bonhomme. At sunrise, we will cross the Col de la Seigne and enter Italy in the magic of the Val Veni dominated by the Black of Peuterey and the glaciers that descend from Mont Blanc. Then comes the Val Ferret, guarded by the Dent du Géant and the Grandes Jorasses before finally passing through Switzerland and savouring its carefully preserved environment. We will have to endure fatigue, overcome our doubts and anxieties. Some of us, having pushed our limits to the extreme, will prefer to stop while keeping the hope of completing the full lap next time. The others will cross Bovine and Tseppes. Then, facing the Aiguille Verte, the vertical Drus and the majesty of the Mont Blanc, they will dive until they reach the heart of Chamonix. Whatever happens, we will all meet again on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the winners, applaud the last arrivals even more and share, runners and volunteers together, our joys, sufferings and emotions.
