Rooms

WHAT TIME CAN I ARRIVE?

Check-in time is 4 p.m. However, you can arrive at the time you want, luggage storage is available until your room is ready.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE SMOKING ROOMS?

All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is also prohibited in the hotel's public areas, in accordance with national regulations.

DO YOU HAVE ROOMS WITH TWIN BEDS?

All our rooms have double beds that can be separated. Please specify when booking at reception@refugemontenvers.fr

DO THE ROOMS HAVE SAFE?

No, our rooms do not have a safe but there is one at the reception where you can ask the teams to store your valuables.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADD A BABY BED IN THE BEDROOMS?

It is possible to add a baby cot in some rooms (depending on their size), but not in the dormitories. This will be charged € 15 per night. Please specify this when booking.

IS THE LINEN PROVIDED?

Yes, bed linen, towels and toiletries are provided in all of our rooms and dorms.

CAN I BOOK A SINGLE NIGHT?

No, given the isolated location of the Refuge, we only offer packages including overnight stay, breakfast and dinner.

DO THE ROOMS HAVE SPECIAL VIEWS?

Yes, we have rooms with a Mer de Glace view and rooms with a Chamonix valley view. We cannot guarantee a view but we will note your preference at the time of booking.

Arrival and departure

WHAT TIME CAN I CHECK IN?

Check in is at 4 p.m. However, you can arrive at the time you want, but we cannot guarantee immediate access to your room. Luggage storage is available until it is ready.

AT WHAT TIME SHOULD I RELEASE THE ROOM?

The room must be vacated no later than 11 a.m. We have luggage storage if you wish to store your belongings during the day.

DO YOU OFFER EARLY CHECK IN OR LATE CHECK OUT?

Yes, only on request when booking at reception@refugemontenvers.fr and subject to availability, and with a supplement, you can occupy your room after 11am (€20 per hour until 3pm, then the full night is charged thereafter) or have guaranteed access to your room before 4pm.

CAN I ARRIVE LATE IN THE EVENING?

If you plan to arrive after the last train of the day has climbed, please notify the hotel at +334 50 53 87 70.

We accept current credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro.

When making your reservation, please read the general conditions of sale carefully. The policy may vary depending on the rate booked and the site you are booking on.

DO YOU ACCEPT DOMESTIC ANIMALS?

Yes, we accept animals but only in the rooms (not in the dormitories). You must specify this when booking and you will be charged € 15 per night per animal.

WHEN DO I PAY FOR MY STAY?

You pay for your stay on site at check-out *. We take a bank card when booking only for the guarantee. We can possibly pre-authorize the total amount of the stay on your bank card.

IS THERE A TOURIST TAX?

Yes, you will have to pay the tourist tax of 4 € per person over 18 years old per night at the hotel.

WHAT IS THE HOTEL'S POLICY FOR CHILDREN?

Children are considered as adults and must occupy the available bedding. No extra bed is possible.

Babies from 0 to 2 years old can sleep in travel cots, in certain rooms only (depending on size), for an additional € 15 per night and on request when booking.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE INTERNET?

Yes, the hotel has Wi-Fi and high-speed internet in the common areas and in the rooms.

WHAT TIME IS THE BREAKFAST SERVED?

Breakfast is served from 7:30 am to 9:30 am every morning in the Refuge restaurant.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE SPECIFIC PRODUCTS FOR BREAKFAST OR DINNER?

Yes, if you mention it when you book. We can then adapt to your allergies and intolerances (gluten-free for example).

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE BREAKFAST SERVED IN THE ROOM?

No, we do not offer room service for catering.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE AN ELEVATOR?

No, the hotel does not have an elevator and it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?

No, the hotel does not have air conditioning. However, it has a fireplace in winter. Given its location at 1913m above sea level, bring warm clothes and closed shoes, even in summer.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE LUGGAGE ROOM?

Yes, the hotel provides free storage for your luggage during the day. If you wish to leave your luggage outside your stay, you can do so for €5 per night per item.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A RESTAURANT?

Yes, the hotel has the Montenvers Restaurant, open for lunch and dinner for hotel residents on half board.

It also offers on the site 2 other points of restoration:

- the bar des glaciers, snack service open during the day

- the Panoramique Mer de Glace, traditional restaurant with 180 ° terrace on the glacier, open seasonally from April to September.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE FLOWERS OR CHOCOLATES IN THE CHAMBER?

Yes, it is entirely possible to have what you want in your room when you arrive. Only, please specify when booking at +334 50 53 88 61.

WHAT ACTIVITIES CAN WE DO AROUND THE HOTEL?

In summer, you can go hiking on the paths of the north balcony, you can also, by being specially equipped, go on a glacier hike on the Mer de Glace (see with the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix). You can also access climbing routes.

In winter, you can stop at the Refuge after skiing down the Vallée Blanche and you can go snowshoeing around the hotel on the trails marked out by the Mont-Blanc company.

Yes, you can offer an overnight stay on a half-board basis or lunch in the hotel restaurant. You can choose and purchase your package online .

Transport

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A PARKING?

No, the hotel is located 30 minutes by train from the center of Chamonix and is INNACCESSIBLE by car.

DOES THE HOTEL OFFER A SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM GENEVA?

No, the hotel does not offer a shuttle from Geneva airport or train station. However, we can organize it with a partner, upon request when booking at +33 4 50 53 88 61.

HOW CAN I ACCESS THE REFUGE FROM CHAMONIX?

From the center of Chamonix, you must take the Petit Train du Montenvers. Be careful to check the schedules (last climb at 4 p.m. in winter). Train traffic is also subject to weather conditions. In summer only, you can go up on foot (900m vertical drop and 3 hours of walking).

HOW CAN I BUY THE TRAIN TICKET?

AT WHAT TIME IS THE FIRST TRAIN TO DESCEND?

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR IN CHAMONIX?

Before taking the train, you can park your car at the Biollay car park or at the Planards car park. These car parks are close to the Montenvers train station and free.
